About The Boondock Ranch

Our Roots: A Tale of Resilience and New Beginnings

Welcome to The Boondock Ranch, a family-owned business deeply rooted in the values of hard work, innovation, and community. The Aguilar family, led by David Aguilar, stands at the heart of our story - a narrative that intertwines personal perseverance with entrepreneurial spirit.

From Belize to The Bayou: The Aguilar Family Legacy

The journey began in 1965 when David's father arrived in the United States from Belize, planting the seeds of a new life in the Greater New Orleans area. David, a first-generation American, embraced the values of dedication and service early on, exemplified by his time in the Army during Desert Storm. It was in 1997 that David's path crossed with Melissa, leading to a partnership both in life and in business that would become the foundation of The Boondock Ranch.

A New Chapter in Carthage, Texas

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the Aguilar family's resilience was tested. Uprooted and seeking a fresh start, David, Melissa, and their five children relocated to Carthage, Texas. It was here, on a modest 15-acre farm acquired in 2006, that the seeds of The Boondock Ranch were sown. Beginning with a small sawmill, and eventually expanding, the business became a beacon of growth and adaptation.

Innovation Born from Necessity

Initially serving the oilfield industry with wood products, the decline of 2009 prompted a strategic pivot. The Aguilar family, drawing on their knack for innovation, began crafting deer stands. Though rudimentary at first, these deer stands marked the beginning of a diversifying enterprise. The Aguilar children, integral to the business, each contributed through various roles, embodying the essence of a family-run operation.

A Legacy Continued and Expanded

Chad, David's son, after completing college, returned to inject new energy and ideas into the business. The duo, leveraging over a decade of trial and error in building chicken coops on their farm, launched a line of chicken coops characterized by durability, ease of delivery, and thoughtful design.

Our Commitment to Quality and Community

Today, The Boondock Ranch is more than just a business; it's a symbol of enduring family values and a commitment to quality. Employing 6 full-time staff and supporting 4 families, we take pride in our craft. Producing over 200 deer stands annually, alongside numerous chicken coops, each product reflects our dedication to excellence.
